Linda Franks 4.2 - Sunday 29th Jan



With wins for Simon Hall and Angie Sadler, plus a turnout of 17 club members and some excellent individual performances, the second event in the KOTR series was a real success. The results are available here, but they may be out by as much as 30 seconds. Here's a photo of Simon receiving some handy sprint finish tips from Rob Jordan, plus Angie in full flight.

Results - Cross Country League , 21 January 2006

Andy Hawkins reports these results from the last County Cross Country Race held at Cinderford last Saturday, run over a demanding course close to Heywood School. Consisting mainly of 3 undulating loops through a wooded area it was a true Cross Country course with ankle deep mud, water and hidden objects.

Result - Not The Roman IX, 22 January 2006

Lisa Gutch reports....

Tewkesbury AC's Brother and Sister team, Jason Draper and Lisa Kane took part in Stratford AC's 'NOT THE ROMAN IX' Road Race on Sunday January 22nd. Lisa is one of Tewkesbury's newest members and was running her first competitive race in club colours as part of her preparation for her target race which is the Bath Half Marathon in March. Her time of 61:14 was extremely pleasing for her as her target time for the race was around 70 minutes. Jason, meanwhile, ran 47:45.

Results - County Cross-Country Champs, 14 January 2006

We had two Tewkesbury runners in last Saturdays County X cty championships at Plock Court

Angie Sadler took part in the ladies race and finished 12 out of 30. She finished first LV45 in a time of 25m:32s, on the course that was approx 6k.

Andy Hawkins was in the mens race and finished 15th out of 47in a time of 34m:19s on the course that was approx 6miles.

Results - New Years 10, 8 January 2006

Seven Tewkesbury AC members took part in the Gloucester AC organised New Year 10 on 8 January. Run from the Anchor Inn at Epney this tough course usually has a wide range of clubs participating helped this year by it being the first of the County Road Race Series. The most impressive performance for Tewkesbury was by Stuart Dudfield who had only come off a night shift 3 hours before but ran out of his skin to beat his PB by just under 5 minutes and also two other club members in the dash for the line. Two of Tewkesbury’s lady members also had fine runs both recoding PBs.

About us (& contact details)

Welcome to Tewkesbury AC. We are a friendly running club that welcomes runners of all standards. There are training runs at 7pm every Wednesday of between 5 and 9 miles. We meet from 6.45pm at Tewkesbury Rugby Club, which is at the end of Gander Lane behind Tewkesbury Abbey.

If the access from Gander Lane through the Vineyards is flooded, there is a rear access to the Rugby Club off Despenser Road in Priors Park.
